English Language & Literature Teacher, Coach for Adolescents
My name is Ruth Vlahos. I was born in 1970 in Sydney, Australia. I completed the Diploma for Overseas Teachers of English (University of Cambridge, R.S.A.) in 1997 and was awarded the Master of Arts in Education: Leadership and Management from the University of Derby in 2019.
My thirty years’ work experience in Education in different roles across a wide range of educational settings and diverse cross-cultural contexts has provided me with a deep insight into the behaviour and mental thought processes of students of all ages enabling me to fully comprehend the difficulties they face both academically and emotionally.
This awareness additionally created the need to learn how to facilitate a process of goal-setting and ownership in adolescents, resulting in my completing the Diploma in Evidence-based Coaching Course at the Athens Coaching Institute (2021-2022). As a solid knowledge base in the theory of Positive Psychology in Education will enable me to further support teens in building their resilience and learning how to take action towards their goals and other challenging circumstances, I am currently enrolled on the Positive Psychology in Education Course at Panteion University.
